WENDELL
PAYNE - PAYNE ENTERTAINMENT
Wendell Payne
began Payne Entertainment in 1994 as a Karaoke Hosting company
providing weekly shows to bars and restaurants. Besides having a
huge love of music, the business was also started to provide
income in support of a good friend’s effort to enter into the
music industry. Wendell and Pamela were married in 1995 and the
business has grown and expanded ever since. Payne Entertainment
and their team of Karaoke Hosts and DJs perform and host
hundreds of shows every year for bars, restaurants, weddings,
corporate functions, class reunions, and more.
Everyone at
Payne Entertainment has a great love of karaoke and always looks
for ways to improve the quality of our karaoke and to do
whatever we can to contribute to the growth and popularity of
karaoke.
Wendell has a
Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and
currently has completed work towards a Masters in Ecommerce. In
addition to Payne Entertainment, Wendell is primary partner in
computer consulting business, Small Businet LLC. Wendell is using these skills and
resources and love of Karaoke to establish and grow the KWCUSA
competition.
Wendell has a
personal goal of making the KWCUSA competition as well known
and competitive as American Idol. Wendell believes the talent
shown at Karaoke venues across the country is one of its best
kept secrets. Too often, Karaoke is a point of humor and even
though it is meant to be fun, karaoke is also the most varied
and entertaining event that continues to grow. Wendell is loyal
and devoted to karaoke. In fact the original venue started in
1994, has been a venue every Saturday night since, O'Riley’s
Tavern in Brookville, OH. Wendell held an early competition in
October 2006 as a run through for 2007's KWCUSA
competition.
O'Riley’s
Tavern was the first approved venue in the United States
hosting KWCUSA event that started on June 1st, 2007 and ran every Friday and Saturday
night through June.
