We at KWCUSA are
attempting to put together a plan working with KIAA, Sound Choice and
Chartbuster to promote the legal use of Karaoke CDGs by KJs across
the country. We want to put together a plan that will provide a way
for the many illegal KJs to become legal.
We have
experienced the pain inflicted by the large number of Karaoke Hosts
that are running shows illegally. We have also been told of venues
without BMI or ASCAP licensing. If a karaoke show is being hosted in
a venue without this licensing, this is also illegal. Even if the KJ
has legal music, the venue must have their licensing.
The problem is
so severe that it creates a difficult situation for us, and it puts
many people out of work. We want to provide those KJs that want to be
legal and may be unaware of their status with a positive method to
become one of the few legal KJs across the country.
The alternative
will cost KJs and venues their business and hurt karaoke for
everyone.
More on this
later as we create the plan and opportunity to make Karaoke better.

break from dancing, you can go downstairs to their karaoke statge

Holiday Inn in
Englewood, Ohio will host the state championships for OHIO
KWCUSA. This will be a weekend event planned for Memorial Day
weekend May 27, 28, and 29, 2011. Holiday Inn was host to 2010
state championships and the singers loved it. They could warmup
with Karaoke in the bar (Humptys)
while the competition was full throttle in the ballroom. Then
singers could simply go to their great rooms following long day of
competition. Same plans are in the works for this year, and
we're looking forward to a great OHIO competition.

Hey KJ's and Venues, do you want to bring more great
singers to your show?
Get involved early to ensure that your venue is sanctioned
as an official KWCUSA venue and your singers could be part of a National Network
Television Series.
The
2011 competition is underway and will soon be in all fifty states.
Make sure your establishment is included by signing up at www.kwcusa.net or call 866-610-7464 ext.
900.
Venues

represent the U.S.A. at the 2011 Karaoke World Championships, which
will be held in Killarney, Ireland, September 8 - 10, 2011.
Each
venue's top male, female, and people's choice are then eligible to
compete at the next level or state championships depending on the
number of venues in the area.

television series next summer. The show, called "America's

Mason, OH (Vocus) November 2, 2010
The
Karaoke World Championship USA announced today that its 2011
singing competition will be expanded in preparation for an
onslaught of seriously talented singers brought on by news that the
KWCUSA will be profiled in a new network television series next
summer. The show, called "America's Karaoke Challenge,"
will document the nationwide talent search for the greatest amateur
singers in the U.S. The shows' climax will be played out live on a
Las Vegas stage in the summer of 2011 when one man and one woman
will be crowned national karaoke champions. The newly crowned
champions will go on to compete in Killarney, Ireland on
September 8 - 10, 2011 for the world title.
Fresh
off KWCUSA's strong showing in the 2010 world championship where
Tami Marie placed 3rd, the highest for our women since the U.S. has
participated, and Ed Pimentel was voted the audience favorite- the
competition is adding its own "People's Choice" category.
The new category will allow competitionants at every level of the
competition to receive votes from the participating audience,
giving singers another opportunity to advance in the competition.
Venues
that host local and state competitions will enjoy the boost in
participation this will bring since it won't just be the judges who
control the outcome of this category. The audience will get a
chance to have their say, much like audiences do in other talent
shows put on by major networks. Hosting venues will have the option
to use text voting supported by applications such as
"Firetext," and "audience voting can easily be used
to facilitate charitable donations as well," according to
Wendell Payne, President of the KWCUSA.
Also
for the first time this year, singers at every level will receive
the full support and backing of the KWCUSA organization when they
register to compete at any level. Registered singers will get
updates and information from the KWCUSA directly, whether they are
competing at Gallagher's in Lake Havasu City, AZ or at Hearthstone
in Boston. Singers will also get the benefit of the KWCUSA's
upcoming, new, interactive website that will further simplify
registration for both the singer and the venue. Singers will be
required to submit a one-time $20.00 entry free.
To
qualify, local competitions are starting now with KWCUSA and will
conclude April 30, 2011. All state finals will be held in May 2011.
You must be qualified through KWCUSA's local competition or online
to compete at your state finals. Singers must sign up at KWCUSA web
site (http://www.kwcusa.net/).
The
results will be televised in a NATIONAL NETWORK SUMMER SERIES IN
2011

All
Singers Must Register at KWCUSA.NET
This year all singers
must register and pay $20.00 fee to compete at any venue. This
became necessary for a lot of reasons and actually provides more
opportunities for everyone involved. First every singer will get needed
information directly from KWCUSA so that everyone knows the rules
and expectations. Sponsors will now be able to provide benefits to
all singers involved in the competition, and we can update singers
directly for any changes that occur along the way. Soon we will
have a completely new and awesome website that will allow
communication between everyone involved.
This is an exciting
time, and we look forward to working with everyone involved.

KWC
2011 Ireland. September 8-10, 2011
Karaoke on the world championship level differs greatly
from the general pub karaoke known to all. The talent shown by
the top singers can easily be compared to the world's greatest
performers. The ninth annual KWC event, which stands for
Karaoke World Championships, will be held in Killarney, Ireland.
KWC has achieved fame as the world's largest and most
prestigious karaoke event in the world, gathering music lovers
all in one place. This year's championships will combine
participants from twenty different countries or more. In 2007,
KWC was held in the tropical atmosphere of Bangkok, Thailand. In
2008, 2009 KWC was held in Lahti, Finland in a brand new
luxurious Lahti Hall, 2010 was in Moscow, Russia! Energetic
and varied performances ... and in 2011 ... welcome to
Ireland.
